That's funny, I'm baking some brownies for after a dinner we are going to tonight. Ooooooo :o
But mine were much darker looking than that clay...

For a sec I thought you were baking a cake.
Ha!

Not cake, but as I write this my daughter is baking a brownie in her Easy Bake oven... looks better than the monster clay (but not much!) :-)

Sorry for pestering you on this, but do you reuse it after making a mold from a previous sculpt?
I could... it's probably best to create a clean resin master rather than keep the clay sculpt around... but I'm just lazy and I have a LOT of monster clay so it's not much of a concern at the moment :-)

Here's a pic of what I've used from it so far:

I've never used Monster Clay, that's the stuff you heat up, right?
If I'm right on that, how long does it stay pliable after heating for sculpting?
It'll become pliable with a lot of handling, but is still workable with tools without heat. It's like a polymer wax (similar to a polymer clay like sculpey). The nice thing is you can heat it up and resculpt over and over.... I've never timed now long it takes to cool down and solidify, but here's a spec sheet on it:

Great start, I can't wait to see it painted.
What material (clay) are you using?
Does it get baked or just dry by itself?
It's Monster Clay. I have Sculpey and Green Stuff... just have a huge amount of the Monster Clay (when comparing to the size of miniature pieces), and this piece is larger so figured it would be best to use it instead of the other stuff... plus, can't use Sculpey since I'm using a plastic movie theatre promo cup lid from a kids' combo as my armature that was the perfect shape and size, but it might have melted or deformed when baking the sculpey... maybe I have another around that I can take a pic of it...

(Edit)
Yup, here's one:

I began working on this sculpt not too long ago. One of the ideas I was going to try out was a the bottomless pit illusion with glass... but figured it was easier to just do the illusion with paint and forced perspective... I still have a ways to go.

I'm thinking of buying the commercially available Black 2.0 which is not as black as Vanta black, but still pretty damn black!
