Re: The Old Shipwreck

EDIT: Ninja’ed Regardless of its material composition, that’s a clever use of your DF and a very nice practical representation of a ship for use in gameplay. ————— Check out www.concreteships.org for RW examples of ships made from an artificial mineral substance with many properties of stone (but s...

Re: Pre-KS6 Miniature Agitation Thread. I'm Not Kidding.

What are the odds of, or interest in, commoners of multiple fantasy races? Should the same commoner (butcher raising cleaver, for example) be sculpted in the same pose with the same clothes and items, but in each of the various fantasy races? Should each fantasy race have unique commoners (the black...

Re: How would you defend against a Dragon

Green dragons spit poisonous gas, black dragons spit acid. Another possible way to minimize the dragon’s ability to do damage to the main castle (and its inhabitants) is to build lots of 90’ tall towers or spires in a perimeter 90’ out from the walls, and at the corners of the castle itself. These w...

Re: How would you defend against a Dragon

I think the idea of fighting dragons with lances on horseback goes back to St. George and the Dragon, if not farther. Grounding the dragon isn’t a bad idea. Two trebuchets simultaneously launch boulders connected by a very long chain, trailing a very big net. Doesn’t have to trap the dragon, just ha...

Re: How would you defend against a Dragon

Extensive use of gilding. Cover every exposed surface with gold leaf (and other precious metals) to make the dragon’s love of treasure work for me and against it. Of course, we may have to build a tower with a dragon-sized platform on it, so the dragon can settle in to bask in the ostentatious displ...

Re: Pre-KS6 Miniature Agitation Thread. I'm Not Kidding.

Under the heading of “modular minis,” a “commoner carrying X” might have interchangeable loads — a chest, a pile of books, a bundle of wood, a basket of fruit, a pig or sheep, etc.

The loads, when not being carried by the mini, can be used elsewhere in a set-up.

Re: Pre-KS6 Miniature Agitation Thread. I'm Not Kidding.

I think 2x2 boards needs its own thread. With some planning, some seated minis might be posed for multiple environments or situations. The cart driver, seated with arms reaching forward, might also work seated at a table with hands or forearms on the table. A seated figure with its head thrown back ...
