Difficulties with DF Europe - Need Help

I need some help with something. Back on Nov. 1, I ordered (and paid a lot) for 3 limited ed. sets to be sent to me in the U.S. from DF Europe. On Nov. 8, I got an email response from Jens Loesel that said he was very busy but would try to send the order out a.s.a.p. Two days later, on Nov. 10 (9 da...

Re: Sorn's City Builder Diorama

I keep watching this video like weekly. So amazing, and so many questions, but here's one:

Where did you get those two huge sailing vessels in the port?

Re: Sorn's City Builder Diorama

Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

I have a question, though. This might sound like I am chucking a stone from a peanut gallery, but I am honestly just curious: how many of those buildings are furnished? I can only assume that a DM would furnish on the fly, as it were...

Sticky torch walls?

Right out the box, my new torch walls seem to be sticky along the bottom edges. There is some sort of dark substance responsible for it, which I suppose could be paint. It seems to be only the tudor torch walls, not the stone ones. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Re: Canadians Backing (of hoping to) KS4

As a Canadian living in the U.S., I would be pleased to help out my countrymen in this enterprise if it comes together (although I do live about 6 hrs from the border). I remember growing up in the 80's when the dollar was down, as I gather it is again. If this plan turns out to be acceptable to all...

Re: So what are people planning to buy once KSIII is in stock?

Just to clarify, what does "the webstore items will be available from now on" mean? Does that mean that more/all sets will be kept in stock?

My response, if anyone cares, was:

"Yes, and my wife's best china transforms dinner from a meaningful family ritual into a cafeteria line-up."

A Biting Remark...

Said to me, somewhat spitefully, when I mentioned to a game-store clerk that I am a collector of Dwarven Forge terrain:

"Dwarven Forge transforms Dungeons and Dragons from a great collaborative role-playing and storytelling experience into a miniature skirmish game."

Discuss...

Re: Using DF for Non-Fantasy settings...

Thanks for the useful replies, all. My group assumes general but not total accuracy in representation, or accurate-unless-told-otherwise. So that gives me a little leeway. The point about doors being entirely pre-modern is a good one. My kingdom...er...nation for a whole set of those steel doors tha...

Using DF for Non-Fantasy settings...

I'm thinking of suggesting to my game group that we give the D20 Modern system a try, perhaps in a post-apocalyptic setting. How well do you think DF might be adapted to such an environment? I'm not thinking of the caverns: natural landscapes are perennial to past, present, and future. I'm intereste...
